I found wide leg brown plaid pants with a cuff a soft white angora cropped sweater and brown tie Earth Shoes with a bit of a wedge platform sole.
My Earth Shoe Story began in 1972. I had just transferred to an urban public junior high school after several years of attending parochial schools. I happily stored my parochial school uniform away which included the oxford blouse weskit vest and multicolored plaid and pleated skirt. I embraced being able to choose my individual style clothing within the parameters of my parents' income and sensibilities. Shortly after starting the public junior high I learned that our class was to go on a bus trip to New York City to visit the United Nations Center the Cloisters and spend the day there including lunch. My Mom took me out shopping for a special new outfit to wear. I found wide leg brown plaid pants with a cuff a soft white angora cropped sweater and brown tie Earth Shoes with a bit of a wedge platform sole. I was so thrilled with my outfit and pleased with the many compliments I received that day. I was in the 9th grade at 13 years old and dressed so stylishly. It was probably the first time I felt truly pretty and really dressed in a popular current fashion.
